Benny Springer out at Waller???

I called over there the other day to talk to Benny Springer (the GM) and they said he was let go on Friday??? Benny is a good guy anyone know what happened?

Speaking of Waller, what is the status of the station licensed to Bullard they are supposedly putting on the air?

Well, you pose a good question. The CP is there, the call letters (KZXM) have been in place since October of last year, and they don't have to build a new tower since they're supposedly going to use an existing cell tower near Bullard. So what's taking so long to put 94.3 on the air? The CP is due to expire next June.

Chuck I am certain that Arbitron will confuse their call letters with KZQX. You might want to suggest to Bill that they change the calls to something more distinct. I am assuming that they are going to simulcast KMPA on it so why not make it KMPB?

Maybe it would be a good idea to bring back an updated version of KDOK, that being the oldies format morphed into adult hits like KLUV in Dallas. Yes, 1240 in Kilgore is KDOK, but the KDOK-FM call letters are available and something could probably be worked out.

It probably would be a good idea, since it is a missing format in East Texas. As far a as I know though, the new Tyler station is going to be a repeater for KMPA (Kompa).

I agree, classic hits would be a great format for East Texas (especially on 99.3) if it was done right with local jocks and news like the old KDOK 92.1 was.

I think The Breeze has been the most improved sounding station in Tyler/Longview this year. They've found their niche in the market and I hope the firing of Benny doesn't derail it.
