Benson on The Sound

He sounds a bit neutered in his role, almost as if he's just voice tracking from home. He gives out a little factoid about an artist here and there and right back into music. For what The Sound is since it's more about the music and less about jock personality he's doing fine but way his role is pigeonholed into just brief talk-ups and hitting the post Uncle Joe's talent is certainly being under utilized.

Perhaps it is by design to be exactly the opposite from the cackling hen and stoner over on KLOS.
 
His morning show is boring. He is at his best when he is proving information and background on the music. Morning chit-chat and off script conversations are just not his thing. This show is even more bland than the Arrow incarnation. At least at the Arrow, he had Scott St. James and Sioux-z Jessup to interact with and give the show a bit of flavor. This show is vanilla-flavored vanilla. I like Jack's canned liners better.

I was hard on the two that had the morning show before, but at least they were allowed to interact and have some personality on the air.
