Benton, Benton and Enlow or Old, Old and Older

Now Tim Miller can post under an alias and say what a genius he is and then attack everyone else that dares comment unfavorably.

Heh heh. Yep, that's Tim. :D

Steve, you're right. Demographically this is a great move. Radio wise it is terrible. I heard them on Monday play "Endless Love" by Lionel Richie and then go into a discussion on Obama's domestic oil policies.

I've honestly wondered this week if there is some sort of bad radio competition going on in this market.

Each building seems to have a submission in the terrible radio contest. A show that just doesn't fit, or a format that is missing the mark big time. Most of them will justify by saying that revenue is there, but it doesn't change the fact it is still awful programming.

I hope this is not an attack on older folks. Do they not deserve to have a radio station to listen to? I no Miller fan either, but if they can sell it, go for it. By the way, unless we get hit by a truck or succomb to some communicable disease, we will all be pushing walkers someday.

I wonder how they will do? I worked with Bill, Doug and Charlie and I have nothing against them but I wonder how long this will last? Until Double O is sold and them what happens?

Age, in this case, is really a proxy for remarking on the off-the-mark programming going on and making fun of the artificially generated hype by Miller. He's managed to con Otis into writing way more articles than those stations deserve.

I am glad those guys are working into their advanced years. I hope to be able to do that myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to know when it's time to be off the air, though, and let younger, less sane folks take over.

That said, to bill these guys as the second coming of radio is comical. They were stars. But doing MOR radio in the 1970's and 1980's. There is no MOR radio for a reason.

Yes, older folks deserve something to listen to. I have several older folks in my life, although it still seems strange to consider my early 70's parents "old." I'll tell you this, as uncool as they were, they prefer listening to oldies rather than some mix of Soft AC resembling MOR. My point is this: if you are aiming for an older crowd with Soft AC, you are aiming about a decade to two decades too old.
