BERKSHIRE COUNTY LIVING LEGEND LEAVING THE AIRWAVES

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

THIS IS PART OF A MESSAGE FROM
A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE
& A LONG TIME CO-WORKER OF HERS:

"Joanne Billow announced Thursday that she was leaving
WBEC/WUPE after more then 25 years on the air.
She is taking a job with the Greylock Federal Credit Union in marketing.
Joanne served as morning personality on what was then Live-105.5,
served as Program Director for many years, survived five owners
and made the move from Live 105 to Whoopee FM four years ago.
Joanne is known throughout the Berkshires for her merry laugh
and "Get Your Buns Outta Bed".

Joanne is a radio legend who will be missed in broadcasting. "

AM 1420/ROCK 105
WAS HER START LOCALLY,
FOLLOWING THE MASS EXODUS OF
INDIVIDUALS WHO TOOK OVER WBRK,
INCLUDING FORMER MORNING HOST
RICK BELTAIRE & COMPANY.

I WORKED WITH HER FOR OVER 2 YEARS.
ACROSS THE HALL EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING
FOR OVER ONE YEAR STRAIGHT OF THAT TIME.

GOOD LUCK & WE WILL MISS YOU, JOANNE!

It is a shame to see someone like Joanne Billow leave the market, but it is a positive thing because she did it because she wanted to change the direction of her life. I admire her for that. I think we have all been at a point where we say to ourselves, "I think it's time I take a chance and move on." How many of us actually do it though? She has been a good friend over my time in association with her and I wish her nothing but the best. If by chance you see this Joanne... good luck to you. I know you will do well in your new venture! ;)
