Yeah he paid $3.5 Million for an AM/FM simulcast in a town of 4,000..... Twenty years ago you probably could have gotten that station for a quarter of a mil.... It is sad what prices in todays' market are garnering.

The stations are making money and, equipment-wise, they are 2nd to not very many others in the state. I know the Chief Engineer and they use Prophet in addition to having the best radio engineer in the state, if not the region.

I'm not doing radio stations anymore ;D

Why would Jay pay 3.5 million for a station in Berryville? Does it get into another larger market or something?

Start with the fact that it makes money and finish with, equipment-wise, there are a lot of stations in Little Rock that can't compare.

Yeah... but still 3.5 million in Berryville? I would figure the most you could bill in Berryville is perhaps $50,000 a month in football season. Probably much less the rest of the year. Jay is good at churning out the bucks! I've seen some pretty fancy stations, even owned some, in similar size markets... but 3.5 million!!!
