Bert show busted for promoting tv show

Give that I've learned most bits (call in bits) are faked and that most radio personalities don't even use their real name on the air, I was interested to hear Bert and Jenn and Melissa make such a heartfelt response to the accusation that they passed off their morning banter as genuine when it was actually a paid advertisement for some tv show.

Why try and reinforce a relationship with the listener that is actually totally phony? Just to advance the illusion?

My god !! Don't tell me this is true !!?? Everything I've heard on the radio, over all the decades, it's all fake ?? And gone is the theather of the mind....Everything I believed in..... :'(

O wait, Im also using a fake name on the air and I also edit phone-calls......Lucky for me it's now done on a computer instead of splicing reel to reel tape as we used to during the 80s......

In other words, most radioshows is done like the way you've said. Dont worry about it....

This is actually a pretty significant story in my opinion as Bert has tried to build his and the show's reputation as being open and honest with their listeners. It's one thing for a jock to do a commercial endorsement. I do think it's reprehensible to disguise a paid endorsement for an actual content break. Crime of the century? No. Does it leave Bert with egg on his face? I think yes.

This is a total waste of space. Bert, or for that matter any other good morning show, would never compromise their show with some lame guest.. paid or otherwise. Not without a fight anyway. Jocks get slammed by lame promotions year-round from sales geeks, but here, we're talking about Grey's Anatomy. Did you happen to catch the ratings? I doubt many would have turned down this opportunity. Plus, I'd rather hear this that some guy yackin' about his sleep comforter or some new diet that you know he's getting greased for. Please, let's move to something more interesting.

Which Bert show member are you?

And which competing show are you with?
Wow, compete, what an honor, I’m sure. From reading a lot of the posts here I though no one could or did compete with the Bert show. Are they not the best radio show ever? I don’t get out of bed till 9 so it’s a safe bet that I’m not with a competing show.

I say good for the Bert Show. Morning shows, when sorely lacking material or ideas, for years have shilled for TV shows (for free). At least Bert's show was making money for q100/themselves. It gives credence to the otherwise pointlessness of talking about the DJ's favorite TV show.

YOU MEAN THE WAR OF THE ROSES WAS FAKED? SAY IT AIN'T SO!

Seriously, this is bad, but not as bad as when Cindy and Ray had a "Smarter than Cindy" contest for an NBC prize pack. They asked a triva question about an ABC show during the contest. I'm sure the NBC promo folks loved that. At least stay true to the folks you're shilling for.

When in doubt, remember that All Marketers Are Liars.
