Rochester had an all 80's radio station and the demand for Buzz FM (80's and 90's fm) turned out to be better in the ratings. This is actually a variety hits board. Nothing wrong with talking 80's.I do agree that 80's music is great, but let's not forget the other decade(s) that also help form the true variety hits format.

I don't know if you consider this one of the best but we were the first.

Star 107.9 was the first 80s formatted station in the country ( I did overnights, weekends and fill in.) Someone bought our website after the station flipped and have been carrying the torch on in cyberspace. They do sound pretty much like we did when we were on the air. The original PD has helped them with getting some of the original liners and jingles as well as music rotations and the like.

Check it out at:

Tubular Dude.... I like .977 the best as well, but star 107.9 is also very good,,, not as good as the OTA version but close... also,, 1club.fm, 181.fm Digitally impoteds other streams, and 202 fm also have 80s streams, and Winamps Library has several of them... I really like how 977 seems to play an equal balance of POP, rock, Dance, and Soft rock without leaning too much on one...
