I'm also in a pit of radio hell with no real alternative rock, or even most of the so-called "alternative" mainstream kind, to listen to. Listening to classic and active rock gets old fast imo.

There's an underground alternative rock specialty show that comes on a classic rock station. It's called "The Edge" host by Coyote J and it comes on Sun Nights around 9:45pm-1:30am (central time) at wzrr.com.

i'll check them out, thx. u just saved my sanity.

Don't forget www.woxy.com. You proabably know the station, it was featured in "Rainman." 97X BAM, the furture of rock and roll.

They also have a "vintage" channel playing music from the massive WOXY playlist.

I've to thank the rest of you for listing these stations, even though it wasn't me that started this thread. I didn't expect to find that many alternative rock stations post here.

To make something clear on my earlier post, Rock 99.5 WZRR isn't in my market area so that's why I made the "no real alternative rock to listen to" comment. Finding an alternative rock station to listen to in the Southeast is very hard to come by these days.

these all kick ass. thx for listing all these. i might never turn on the radio again.

Some great recommendations. Also, KSLG.com "K-Slug, Humboldt's New Rock" is a good station that doesn't rely exclusively on active/heavy stuff and pulls out some rare cuts during request shows.
