Best and Worst Morning Show

VODood said:
technically Tom is from Cleveland (Shaker Heights, a very well to do area) and Bob is from Long Beach, CA. They teamed up at WJML in Petoskey, MI before landing at WFBQ in '83. Tom has a degree in Journalism from Columbia. Ivy League Columbia. Hardly "good ol boys" by definition. However, they pander to the demos that have made them rich. I call it smart.

Call it whatever you want, I tuned them out years ago. More about my age probably then anything else. I like NPR's Morning Edition.

I might try it. I found nmyself really enjoying Jim Scott's segments with the ABC folks so maybe NPR might be something new to try. Does the station have any local shows or is evrything a network show?

Chris and Janeen on WGRR are awesome, good music, clean humor, just enough info to keep me informed. Still like the Dawn Patrol, don't care if they're all senior citizens now. :D When I'm in the mood for crude humor and the latest Anthony Weiner jokes I'll punch up Bob and Tom and laugh my butt off, truly a guilty pleasure. Like Ted McAllister, great oldies and lots of artist info, too bad the signal sucks. Jim Scott is decent but with 500 people contributing to the show he should be. Point is there is plenty of variety on Cincinnati morning radio, talk, comedy, sports, music, news, etc. If you can't find something you really like I feel sorry for you. Go grab your I-pod and enjoy your collection of Air Supply and Cat Stevens. ;D

Chris and Janeen are like listening to fingernails scratching down a chalkboard. And most of us have much more on the Ipod than just Air Supply and Cat Stevens. Try listening to one sometime, you might like it

I'm not from this area, but have lived here for awhile. I was chatting with some friends about good and bad morning shows over the years. Jerry Thomas was very good. The Dawn Patrol at one time had a great show and Q102 has had some good and bad morning shows as well.

As for WMOH, mentioned earlier. I do recall some guy on in the early 90's. I think his name was Kurt Randle. He was pretty bad. Always sounded tired, would say, dub-yah, MOH. Really sounded bad.

WHIO in Dayton has been good when their morning show off an on over the years.

Jim Scott is still the man after all these years. And who can forget "The King" Dusty Rhodes.

Too bad we couldn't get Phil and Brent from KMOD in Tulsa on the radio up here. Love it or Hate it, one must admit Roy D. Mercer makes ratings and money. Worst morning show - anything with raunchy language ala Howard or Opie/Anthony.
