Best (and worst) of Louisville!

Louisville has some good talent at djx you have mike shannon and ben davis and pete and kelly and at whas you got terry meiners on wfpk you got matt anthony at night and you have duke during the 9 am-12pm shift and on the max tommy lee.

Just my opinion
 
Best live morning show-Lambert and Lindsey on the Max hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are awesome.
Best syndicated morning show-Russ Parr on B96
Middays-Best: Nobody. Worst: Matt Ryan
Afternoon drive-Best: Terry Meiners, Zach McCrite, Afternoon Underdogs, Mike Shannon. Worst: KISS FM
Nights: Best: dj E-Feezy. Worst: Carlos.

Mornings -- I agree Lambert and Lindsey.. the only bad thing is they are both so old.. this is a HOT A/C with Soft A/C people in am drive.. blah.
Middays- Vicki Rogers at Lite 1069.. her smooth voice is perfect for Soft A/C.. worst would go to KISS or Louie.
Afternoon- this is hard, really no good afternoon talent except Terry Miners on WHAS.. worst, Nikki on the MAX
Nights.. Ben Davis best, Tommy Lee ok.. he should be live... worst would be WAMZ

Other great talent have gone through Louisville.. Rebecca Lake, Ric Owen, Pru Miller, Karen Rite, Jason Davis...

Nikki is the new afternoon girl on the max... she did weekends at a country station in houston before coming here, at least that's what all access said.. give her a listen, not very good.. and Brad Bell use to be decent while at the hawk but, there's nothing there.. sounds like a boring announcer now...
 
Hey I am new to the business in this area, this is my first time on this board so hello everyone. I admit you guys know more about the jock in louisville. I have had a chance to listen to a few that you have mentions, the girl on the max is terrible, Ben Davis is definately the best hands down on in nights. Being more into the rock aspect of music here, it seems like there are 2 newer rock stations 93 and 104. The morning show on 93 seems pretty good, local and humorous at times. Also the afternoon guy on 104, Moe I believe is his name, I have a chance to hear him more because I am up at that time. He seems to be doing really well, takes alot of calls, and at least talks about interesting things. Like I said I am new, and don't know that much, what is your guys opinion of the best or worst of the Rock radio. Thanks
 
I am not a fan of either rock station in this town but it seems to be there is not alot of difference but some difference between the two stations.The fox i will say does have a cool remix show on friday nights called scratch n sniff and they have detour on sunday nights.Detour and wfpk 91.9 are the only places to here more left of center rock in this town.Wlrs reports as alternative but they do not act like it.Metallica and mudvayne and seether and evanesence do not belong on a so called alt station.If someone forced me to listen to either it would be the fox.But even wfpk all day long would grate on my nerves with there sometimes classic rock like the band and led zepplin.I love streaming www.indie1031.com out of los angeles.An awesome station Yuk

Hi!! This is Nicole from The Max. I may suck but at least I have the courage to post my real name. Secondly, radio geek, it was never published that I did weekends at KILT in Houston. The only people that know that fact work here!!! I also worked at four other stations in Houston. I guess I suck so much because the people that taught me suck!! Let's see..my first PD is a PD in Los Angeles who is also a consultant now and very highly regarded in radio. My last PD was over 23 stations in a certain radio corporation and never let any part-timer fill in for afternoons until I came along ..but what does he know..you .. and not to mention "old" George. So I was thinking since you are so much better than me and I need to be taught how to be a good DJ.. you should come up sometime this week. I have cleared it with George and we would love for you to come up and "help" me. I have to go now and cash my "BONUS" check!!!. Thank you for listening and for telling everyone else to listen to me!!!!
 
Well said Nikki! People say some crappy stuff hiding behind a stupid screen name.

The Max is a very good station - the air talent, including Nikki, are talented and seasoned. The ratings are strong in their key demos and the station makes money. All that is alot more than many other stations in the market can say!

Actually Nikki it was posted on allaccess when you took the job where you came from... I didn't mean to offend you... sorry if I did... so do you think I work in your building? Your mistaken if you do... I don't.. sorry.
 
No, it said I came from KILT in Houston..it did not say anything about me working weekends there..we went back and checked. I have narrowed you down to 3 people. You stated in an earlier post that you worked at the Hawk..there are people here that remeber that station and the people that work there!! It's just a matter of time until I figure out which of the three you are!!!!

Girl for real calm down... I'm sorry if I offended you... if someone telling you they don't like your sound freaks you out that much you are in the wrong business!
 
I'm not upset about your comments because I know you are someone whose radio dreams have never come true and that makes you very critical of other people..I use to be like that when I was very,very young and did not understand life and fate.The only people that matter our my listeners and they like the job I'm doing!!! This is my last post because I need to concentrate on my job so I can be the very best I can be. Posting opionions constantly on this board, will keep you at a level you don't want to be at for a very long time!!!
