Best Classic Game Shows

For me, it's the $25,000 and 100,000 Pryamids, Family Feud (pre-Bullseye), Tic Tac Dough, Classic Concentration, Scrabble, The Price is Right, Press Your Luck, Jeopardy!, Nickelodeon's Double Dare, and Super Password.

I never got the appeal of Wheel of Fortune, other than a certain letter-turner (or letter-toucher nowadays) being at one point THE center of attention. I could take or leave Pat Sajak as a host; the prizes and puzzles often times are nice, but I've never been a big fan of Wheel. Great theme music, though :)

Growing up in the '80s, I had to settle for the 'last gasp' of some of the classic game shows. The only ones I still liked when I was in my teens were 'Super Password' and 'The $25,000 Pyramid'. While I occasionally watched 'Bandstand' when the cartoons were over, my main memories of Dick Clark come from 'Pyramid'. The tone of that show could switch very easily between 'jokey' and 'all business', and Clark did a nice job keeping things moving.
With all due respect to Bert Convy, any 'dumbing down' of Password was usually at his expense. He had an unfortunate habit of blurting out answers during some of his 'giggle fits', and 'Bert is stupid' jokes became kind of a running gag that sometimes overshadowed the game.
