Best DJS in East Tennessee past and present

Wow...didn't know Ray Buckles died. He was a super guy. I worked over there for around 2 years...with Ray and Fred Williams,Jim Smith,Edd Townsend and Dick McClellan and Red Kirk. Mitch Sandidge was a great engineer/interim manager. Jim Edwards was there, too. Excellent atmosphere and great format back then. Miss the place on top of the hill...in Blountville...LOL.

anybody ever remember Ray Hutchins and his son Gregg? I would assume Ray is completely out of radio by now. Gregg is doing AM Drive for an FM station in Nashville that is the flagship for the Solid Gospel Radio Network (Salem Communications) and plays drums for Jean Shepherd on the Opry.

I believe if a list of the best is being compiled, Michael Henry Martin, WFLI, would have to be included.

Although not really a DJ, Stanley Hall was one of the most creative and talented persons I ever had the pleasure of working with.

anybody remember Joe Ritchie the overnight man on wimz back in the early 90's?
Yeah I sure do. He wasn't all that good but I guess he was all they could get for an overnight shift. Phil Williams was the best DJ to ever be heard over the airwaves in Knoxville.

Tom Dooley, Chuck Boo-Boo Barron, Bill "The Birdman" Thomas...almost anyone who worked at 15Q....simply the best programmed station ever to grace the Knoxville airwaves with major market talent.!!!
