Best Equipped TV Station in Boston

Here's a What-if

What if all 3 Late Night talk show hosts would originate a week shows in Boston

Here's a Reason
Letterman would speed to WBZ
Leno would originate at WHDH
Jimmy Kimmel would originate at WCVB

I know Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were taped at the Wang Center when It came to Boston. But What if Price is Right taped a week of shows in Boston, Where would they originate in Boston, either WBZ or another venue in Boston.

Soap Operas- I think that they should have moved all the West Coast Soap Operas to the Boston area to have them taped in Beantown, where would all the LA Based Soap Operas go if they originated from Boston.

Kimmel might go live from CVB's 2nd studio...but usually when they are "on the road", they do it in somewhat of a public place. 4 and 5 are not equipped. They would likely do it at the Wang or Avalon or Roxy, or the Pavilion. Something like that.

When Letterman came to Boston on a Late Show college road trip in 1996, they taped the show at BU's Tsai Performance Center on Comm Ave.

Kimmel might go live from CVB but 5 is not equipped?
Huh?
Do you mean 4 & 7 are not equipped?

I've been inside WBZ. Studios are to small for a national show. I believe that to also be the case at WHDH. However there have been National programs done from WCVB and the studio has always been large enough to handle it. So WCVB is definitely the best equipped station is Boston. Jimmy Kimmel would be in good shape. Leno and Letterman would have to search for other outlets unless they could rent out a studio from WCVB.

Totally forget about Price Is Right coming to town. To many games, to many logistic problems. They took the show to Vegas once for a Prime time special and It was an absolute nightmare to pull off.

WCVB once had the Jane Pratt show (I think that was the name - it ran @ 2:30a or so) come out of it's studios for a while in the 90s, so they're equipped for a live audience. WBZ was built with live shows in mind, but not necesarily for audiences. Much of that space may have been taken for other technical aspects of the operation (WBZ-FM in the day, control rooms for the UPN stations, HD control rooms, news gathering, etc.) As far as technical equipment, I don't know if any of the Boston affiliates have in-studio HD equipment at this time. Leno is in HD, not sure about Kimmel. Letterman will be starting in September.

Maureen:

I think the name of the hostess of the show was Jane Whitney.
