Best evening shows???

Does anyone care who's on the 8-11 shift? I know the ratings are strongest in the AM and PM drive time, but what is the best, most entertaining show on in the evening? It seems to me that the music stations have little personality at that time, and the talk stations (like 97.1) have average talent at best. Thoughts?

I am a big fan of Whitney Allen's Big Time, It was aired on KKGO Go Country 105 up until late August, replaced by Paul Freeman's show. I still stream Whitney via the internet in order to hear her, I also stream Jack Boxer of Dial Globals Mainstream Country format as I like his style as well.

Brian Whitman is actually a pretty good talent; Tim Conway can be entertaining from time to time but you'd think after 11 years on the air in the #2 market, he'd be a bit better at basic radio tactics.

At home, I listen to Paul Freeman on KKGO and to Whitney Allen's Bigtime, which is only on KKGO now on Saturday nights. When I've got access to a computer, I also stream Jack Boxer's show on HighwayCountry. While it's only on one night a week, I also listen to Sunday Night Classics with Jimmy Kay on KKGO from 9-midnight.

My picks are Jim Ladd on KLOS and Karen Sharp on KOST. Ladd is always entertaining and I love that he plays what he and his audience really wants to hear. Plus he has great insight and info about the world of rock.
Karen Sharp has a soothing voice and really sounds like she cares about the show and her listeners. But Lovesongs on the Coast has always had good hosts from Jan Marie to Liz Kiley and Lori Sanders. Oh and Ted Ziegenbusch too, but Karen has really made the show her own over the years.

I love Karen Sharp's show too. However, before her I use to find myself at home laying on the livingroom floor as I listened to Brian Douglas on KZLA. His show had several features I enjoyed.

Now I don't listen to too much to that shift on the radio. There are times I find myself surfing the stations to see what is out there (AM included) and get a little disappointed. 11 PM brightens my day back up again.

Before the 8 pm hour, I do like Shotgun Tom Kelly then followed by the other Kelley.

I never heard Paul Freeman evening show on KKGO FM but I use to listen to him on Lite 92.7 as the afternoon and morning DJ and he is every entertaining. To bad he 92.7 KMLT / KELT / KLIT switched to JILL FM. Paul Freeman I found out is also an amateur radio operator he holds the call sign K6PDF. Nick, KN3ICK

Paul is now on KKGO from 2-7PM,
He replaced Todd Baker in that spot just after the new year.
From 7pm-12mid KKGO now plays "Go Country 105 Music"... so I wonder what the people who chose Paul's evening show as their favorite now consider the best, most entertaining show on in the evening from 7PM - midnight or 8 to 11PM?

I like Art Laboe's show (7p-12am) on KHHT Hot 92.3. It is a great show that encourages and uses listener interaction, which is rare in today's radio. Not to mention, it is a WIDE variety of R&B from the late 50's-60's to the R&B of today with some AC mixed in. It's strange to hear THE PLATTERS, JODECI, and LEO SAYER all in the same music set, but with Art's show it is possible.
