Best guesses for 107.3

Here is the new Facebook page of the new 'wave' : http://www.facebook.com/pages/1073-The-Wave/206481266100527
Says to join them for a Wave Christmas starting Monday, Dec. 19 and new format to launch on Jan. 4

I understand that these are crazy circumstances, but if/when 107.3 flips to Christmas on December 19th that will leave Cleveland with 4 full fledged FM stations playing 24/7 Christmas music. Is there any other market in the country that can make that same claim? I know its a ratings grab for these stations (the fact it works really blows my mind) but boy does 4 full time FM Christmas stations seem completely unnecessary.

They are still calling themselves 'V107.3' on the air and on the the new website. There is an animated promo saying Smooth FM coming soon (perhaps first of the year like Mon., Jan 2) The station's live stream and playlist can be accessed by both the new website referenced above as well as the old: http://v1073.northcoastnow.com/

The "northcoastnow.com" portal is ELBC property. I'd expect for both the old "Wave" and "V" sites to go away, or simply redirect to the 1073thewave.net site, in the coming days.

Interesting that they didn't switch media players before the flip, though.

We'll all blink a few times and the holidays will be over and we'll be into 2012. So, 4 stations playing a variety of different Christmas songs IS highly unusual...but, it'll go quickly.

The flip to "Smooth Jazz Christmas" will take place at 12:01AM tonight.

"SJXMAS" is currently running on WNWV HD2 at this moment. Expect a simulcast on both the main channel and HD2... until the HD signal is shut down completely.

I don't know about you, but I'm giving HD radios to all my friends and family this Christmas. Don't want them to miss one minute of this exciting content on state of the art technology! :D

The death of HD on WNWV is apparently exaggerated.

Rubber City will be reverting 107.3 HD-2 BACK to a pure Smooth Jazz presentation on January 4. Keeping the old Wave logo to boot.

It's a surprise to me. Even people within RCRG expected the HD pilot light to be turned off.
