Best Night jocks in Providence

Who were the best Night jocks in the Providence nite time? Go as far back as you would like. My top 5 (Being under 40, I only remember radio back into the 80's).

These are in no order,

Tyler at Pro FM
Mike Waite at JB 105
Valentine at Kix 106
Jammer at Kix 106
Robby Bridges at Pro Fm

wow, valentine and jammer, spent many nights taping them do their thing, great stuff.

definitely 2 spots on my top 5
the rest..

big john bina (pro-fm)
art spencer (lite) (just because of the format/who he was/how he did his show, amazing)
real deal mike neal (kicks 106) (was proud to be one of his interns!)

Don't forget about Mojo/TicTac, who did nights at Kix 106. He then did nights at KC-101 in New Haven, and returned to do mornings at Kix 106.

The Kix nightshow hosts went on to do well in radio. I think Jammer is currently in New Orleans and had a nice run at WABB-FM in Mobile, AL. Valentine has been in Los Angeles for several years. TicTac last worked afternoons at 92.3 Now in NYC, but I am not sure where he is now.

I guess i should have included Mojo, Who is on the West coast at a country station as a PD ( i forgot which station - city). Mojo was a very talented and risque. The stories i could share on him, As someone who was at the station at the time and even just as a listener. He was insane! Also a great all around guy.

Scott, remember Mojo and Curt in the morning?

Jayday, I very much remember Mojo and Curt in the morning. And I think Tiffany Hill was on with them (she's now on B-101 in Philadelphia). Among the crazy things I remember Mojo doing was "taking over the station" for an entire week. It was a stunt to get to know his listeners, and he literally stayed on the air 24 hours a day, from a Monday to a Friday. He was also sick of nightly countdowns at 8 or 9 PM, so he started a countdown that was literally at 7:47 every night. When he was at KC-101, listeners were so sick of All-4-1's "I Swear" that he played it at least ten times in a row.

Too bad the days of such talent on the radio are largely over.

After Kix, I remember hearing him a variety of places...from Atlantic City (remember Boss 97, anyone? It is now an ESPN affiliate) to Albuquerque (I think he was at Kiss in Albuquerque, but I could be wrong).

I actually Prefered Jaxon and Pharmy in the Morning better than the night or afternoon show. Maybe because they stopped the music too often during those shifts. I would nominate them for top Mornings show though! Along with Jimmy Gray. Fox and Cheeks, Rocky Allen, Paul and Al during thier prime at 'HJY, Nik Cater at 99.7 the.... Mojo and Curty and Jessica. Even Donnie B back in the Day at Kix.

Did Donnie B ever do mornings? I remember him only on PM Drive (when Jammer was on nights).

Jaxon and the Pharmacist did mornings on the entire 'FNX network. However, it was relatively short lived. Is Jaxon still on the radio in Philly?

without a doubt, TJ Napp

TM in PM

and when Gio did nights

I was a big fan of Gary Berkowitz at PRO-FM and Holland Cooke at WPRO-AM when I was in high school, and of course Ed Cherubino at WPRO. Years later, it was Doc (Jon) Holiday at JB105, who I actually had the pleasure of working with on a few occasions, and also Big John Bina and Tony Mascaro at PRO-FM back in the 80's.

By far, Robb Stewart from JB-105 was my fave night jock. As a teenager, I used to come up with some wacky stuff and he used to put me on the air quite a bit.
