BEST NON-CARTOON TV SHOW WITH A CARTOON OPENING

So which non-cartoon show had or has the best cartoon opening? I'll wait to
see more listed before I decide, but "The Nanny" is near the front right now.

The Nanny
Bewitched
I Dream Of Jeanie

......now I'm blank......

My Favorite Martian
The Ford Show starring Tennessee Ernie Ford-Openings were always animated-Using "Peanuts" Characters for a time..

Well burst my britches.............how could I have forgotten "I Love Lucy"?

It may have not been the best, but it is memorable. I think I've seen about
3 different openings for this show. I'm not sure if the other two were made
by TV LAND or not????

Didn't another Lucy show also have a cartoon opening (in color)?

It would probably help if we put some of these openings on here.
Someone on YouTube says "Lucy" had 10 openings......now that can't be right.

The reason for the different I Love Lucy openings was simple- syndication.

The one that most of us are familiar with- the two hearts on a simple background- was for syndication, as the original with the "stick figures" was rife with references to the show's sponsor at the time, Philip Morris (and as time progressed, subsequent sponsors), making it unsuitable for the rerun market.

When you figure all the subsequent sponsors, there were probably quite a few original openings/closings, hence the generic versions thst we're all familiar with.

Learned this on TVLand- when they ran the show, they made a big deal about restoring the original credits and explained the whole situation.

Carol Burnett Show

From the eighth season onwards, the program had what in the ending credits were called "videoanimation," with an animated version of Carol's charwoman opening doors with live-action regulars (Harvey Korman through 1977, Tim Conway after 1975, and Vicki Lawrence throughout). The eighth-season variation differed from seasons 9 and 10. And of course, there was the whole 11th season where Dick Van Dyke came and went (and after he left, Vicki was inside a light and Tim inside a TV screen). Question, though: In the Van Dyke era, what was the order in which the regulars were introduced?

As for the animated opening that preceded that - how long was that one (with animated figures of Mr. Korman, Ms. Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner) used? I noticed it as early as the third season (was it used in the second?), and right up to Mr. Waggoner's departure in 1974. The first season's open, of course, was notably different.

Bewitched had a set of different openings with sponsor credits than what most of us grew up with in syndication. The music was a little different too. During the mid-late 60's, their two sponsors were Quaker Oats and Chevrolet and alternate openings were used depending on who sponsored the show. When Quaker was the sponsor, the cartoon pan was changed into a kettle (after all, you can't make oatmeal with a frying pan!).

Later sponsors included Kodak and Oscar Mayer.

How about "The Wild, Wild West"? That's about the only drama I can think of, except for one season of "Perry Mason" with a really stark sort of animation sequence as its opening titles.

"What's My Line?" had a variety of animated openings during its run, too.
