Best of Hartford

Hartford Courant Best of Hartford 2026: Best Radio Personality: Brian Schactman-Brian and Company, (WTIC 1080). 1st Runner Up: Adam Rivers (KC 101), 2nd Runner Up, Erik Semmel, Computer Talk with TAB (WTIC 1080).

Two of the three winners are with a station that primarily serves a 65-to-dead demo and is stuck on a dying band without an FM simulcast or translator, and the other winner is with a station that is a fringe player in Hartford and targets New Haven. Oh, right. This survey was done by a newspaper.

Well, Adam also does afternoons at Kiss. I am sure it is mostly voicetracked, however.

While few people work as hard as Adam Rivers, it's a sign of the times that a voicetracker (at least at KC-101) won a best-of award.
Hi all - I am live frequently on both radio stations every day :)
Working hard shouldn't win an award. Wayyyyyy better personalities in this state than this "popularity" contest. Sad.
Life's too short to be hating on a radio message board in 2026

Nah, just an accurate state of your station(s), in my opinion. Don't you have a shift to voice track?

Ok, so enlighten us, in your opinion.. what stations and jocks do you prefer?

I'm nit a regular listener of KiSS 96.7 or KC 101, but I believe Adam us a great personality. I got to hear a lot of him about 12 or 13 years ago when he was filling in for Renee on The River 105.9 when she had an issue with her eye. If you didn't listen to KC 101 you would've thought Adam was a regular personality on The River.

With a good voice tracker you can't tell the personality is voicetracked. Rob Ray "The Music Professor" the 3PM-7PM personality on 96.1 Kool Radio in Southington/104.3 Kool Radio Westerly is another example of a great voice tracker.

On the other hand Amy Grey the boss lady at Full Power Radio is live on Radio 104.1 and voice tracks on several other stations including a Saturday 10AM-3PM shift on Kool 96.1 and 104.3 is a sloppy voice tracker. She is very repetitive with things she talks about between songs. Some times you'll gear her talk about the same thing word for word three times in a 5 hour shift. Sometimes when she talks about the weekend weather forecast it's wrong, so it's obviously voice tracked, and on more than one occasion I've heard her tracked on 96.1 while she's doing a live remote on Radio 104.1 at the same time!

Just about anyone than canned-liner card jocks that if you played their tracks from 8 months ago, today - there'd be no difference.

Name some actual talent and stations.... instead of taking a dig at someone by name. IF youre going to make a claim, back it up with actual facts not random statements.

For the record, i dont listen to Adam, im not even in CT. but am from the state.... so im not being an Adam fan boy here.
