Back in my Rochester days, I was actually partial to "Wease-free radio" myself. I have to admit, though, that Stern made Wease look intelligent.

And please enlighten all of us how these people did in the Times Union poll?
Or I forgot, there hasn't been a Times Union newspaper in Rochester is over a decade, yet you stated on this board that (defunct) newspaper also had a recent similar "pole" ( Your spelling not mine. The word is spelled poll by the way)
I am truly amazed that City Newspaper, which has had numerous editorials against bias, would allow such a poll to be printed in their paper with the words "Sexiest and Hottie."
Those words to describe people are both unflattering and demeaning and City Newspaper's editor should be ashamed for allowing those terms to be used in print.

Spinning Out of Control

Good grief, this discussion - as silly as it began - has become completely unhinged.

Do you really care about a list published elsewhere, and how it was determined?

Yes, rating anchors on their "hotness" is shallow and sexist - just like TV in general. Ask any newswoman over the age of 35 - or any actress for that matter - and you'll find that darn few of them are getting the number of job offers that they got at 29.

Performance and experience count, but endless marketing - and not just TV news marketing - has made "eye candy" a consideration. Looks alone aren't enough (i.e. Lia Lando), but they sure don't hurt the total package. To expect people to not notice is just silly.
