:)If you haven't listened to the Re creation of KYA San Francisco it's Great!!!!! thune in www.kyaradio1.com or www.bossradiokya.com or kyabosradio.com

Previously discussed controversy notwhithstanding, the bottom line is this is a worthy effort. I especially like the high quality audio and vintage jingles. My impression, however, is that over the past few months the playlist seems to have become "safer," and the time frame represented therein has become a little too broad. This strictly reflects my own personal taste. Many may consider these aspects to be a plus.

I like the KYA reprise, I listen on a semi-regular basis, but I like radiobop and hylitradio.com better. I'd reccomend the latter two to those who enjoy hearing more rarities....KYA for those who prefer the stuff that's a little more familliar (but still frequently ignored by terrestial radio). But, by all means, give KYA a listen if you haven't yet. Bringing back vintage radio is the type of undertaking that deserves support.

It's great that oldies continue to "live" on satellite and internet radio! Try EDGEWATER RADIO - out of Edgewater N.J. They play a large variety of oldies from the 50's through the 80's with a very large mix of 60's and 50's. They can be found on I-tunes under 50's and 60's as well as on Live 365.

The website is www.edgewaterradio.freeservers.com.

The live 365 link is: www.live365.com/stations/theedge1630

On the website, you'll find a very good contemporary country station (Constant Country KRS) as well as the link for Edgewater Radio.

Check them out, both are very good stations!!

I listen to that but there's also 50's/60's live from Los Angeles, Morgan/O'Hara, The Legend, and Two Nations Gold that are also excellent.

If you're a 60's fan, like me, you'll want to give a listen to "Simply 60's" on Live 365 at:

http://www.live365.com/stations/simply60s

I've taken the Top 40 charts for '60 through '69 and have selected the better songs from the charts that give a good cross section of what was played during that decade, ie. Pop Standards, Instrumentals, British Invasion, Surfin' Sound, Girl Groups, etc.

Nice re creation of KYA

To be 100% clear. My post refers to this and this ONLY.

I have some great old airchecks of KYA and I'll say it's a decent recreation. Of course, there are many, many web streams out there with various quality of oldies. I really wonder just how many terrestrial stations are running a successful oldies format that doesn't sound like the typical canned safe playlist. That, I must insist, is becoming more rare as time goes on.

As far as oldies streams go, I have my own personal preference.

I wouldnt listen to KYA on the internet, Verne White is a fake, and continually tries to pretend hes some one hes not He is a guy who never worked for KYA 1260 and never drew a paycheck from KYA
