Best PD In The Hudson Valley

I would pick Bob Barnum at WFAS in Westchester County. He is a good performer, excellent radio man and good talent coach. He is also an extremely hard worker and is still a very good PD under tough circumstances with the parent company and in the industry as a whole.

Scotty Mac - WSPK - for keeping the station as fresh and recognizable as it is for Top40 , giving the area one of its biggest events of the year (K-Fest), maintaining its perennial high place in ratings, and not afraid to throw in elements outside the cookie cutter of the format

I'd say Barnum if qualifications were taking a heritage local radio station and running it into the ground. Does striping live talent off a station in favor of John Tesh 13 hours a day make him the best? Maybe it's the free fall in ratings? Total loss of identity for the radio station? I feel bad for the guy working where he works, but he's the guy with wheel so it's on him.

For my money - I'd say Scotty @ K104 is the best in the HV.

Steve... You do, I hope, realize that those moves had more to do with budget cuts from the parent company more than anything else.
You need to look at the station pre-recession...

I realize some of it is corporate budget cuts, but every station had financial troubles last year. it is a PD's job to protect the brand and make the best with what is available. FAS closed up shop and mailed in for the last two years. A good PD would not have allowed this to happen. I don't know Bob and I am sure he's a nice guy, but the best PD, I don't think so.
