Best Personalities in North Florida

Let me see if I can get some talk going.

Who do you think is the best personality in your North Florida market (and why)?

This area covers Pensacola, FWB, PC, Jacksonville and Gainesville.

I will start - I think Dr Shane is the best in Panama City (everyone knows him and he and his station get good ratings)

Best personalities in Jacksonville .. do you mean the ones that are gone or those who should be gone.

You know what this was clearly my fault for trying to be positive about current air talents. I will do you a favor and post a negative one too. OK? Jeez you people kill me I try to provide a positive outlet for you people to talk nicely about our peers and no one can do it.

You were obviously attempting to open a positive outlet and Mr. Capone was not in the mood for it. He posted on Sunday and that was the day he had to do that thing, so try to understand his emotions. Next time the families have a sit down, I'll mention it to Al.

On the chance of saying and playing the same thing over and over and over....

You guys seem to be forgetting that you actually have to have listeners --- or even better
yet --- listeners who care to be able to name a station or personality. That's the real reason
there are no responses. Ask the same question about Sirius and XM Radiodude!!!

Sirius and XM both have boards for you to post on. The rest of the boards are for Terrestrial Radio. Even Howard Stern has strongly implied he's coming back to Mr. Marconi's legacy. The number of new car owners renewing Satelite, that they rarely listen to, has dropped dramatically. This is not radio's version of cable TV. XM and Sirius will eventually merge.

For the reason there is so little response, maybe it is the wrong time to ask this question about best and worst personalities when Clear Channel, among others, has made such deep cuts.

I guess this best/worst radio personality in North Florida thing really caught on. The rate people are being fired there won't be anyone to talk about by the weekend.

I'm not going to respond to the "worst" thread. I may want to get back into radio some day! :-\

As for best, here is a list of personalities to whom I have enjoyed listening over the years, in no particular order:

Hoyle Dempsey
Greaseman
Klinger
Ty Miller
John Harrell
Don Garrard
Tom Murphy
Ashley West
Arf
Randy Clemens
Steve Fox
Jason Hays
Lex & Terry pre-1997

and honorable mentions to Terry Gladstone, Frazer Smith, and Gary Thompson, heard at various times on former Westwood One affiliates in the area.
