Earlier, I announced my time off from streaming, but now I am coming back, but want to avoid Live365 and plan to make my stream "gapless." I am aware that LoudCity has cheap listener slots, but what is the best streaming software I can use with LoudCity? SAM 4 seems simple, but not sure if it's Windows Vista compatible, ShoutCast/Winamp seems complicated to me, and Station Playlist, not sure if the standard package would give me the "gapless" sound. Any thoughts?

I use StationPlaylist Studio and Creator Pro and it is compatible with Windows Vista. It cross fades voicetracks and songs just fine and gives you control over your station and is very stable. They have a support group on Yahoo Groups if you have questions, or you can email them directly and they are very responsive. You can check the comparison chart on there web site to see if the standard version will do what you are asking, or ou can send them an email and ask them directly.

Station Playlist Creator is probably the best, but if you are low on money, look at Zara Radio. It is an excellent program for FREE.
I have to give my positive vote for StationPlaylist, considering I wrote the StationPliaylist review for broadcast trade paper Radio World.
Truckin' to the Oldies is using StationPlaylist and it sounds real tight. Their support is great and you can make payments to take some of the sting out of the price. It is well worth what you pay.
Radio Bop 60s and ROOTSofROCK.US are on StationPlaylist which wins the biggest bang for the buck award of anything south of Google/Phophet or whatever. Radio Bop has been on DRS2006 for 4 years and we are in the process of migrating to StationPlaylist. SPL has EXCELLENT support, an ACTIVE discussion group, and it WORKS with a broad feature set.
We just recently configured Radio Bop 60s for live operation, adding a second box to handle audio processing (with Stereo Tool a $40 excellent option at stereotool.com) and streaming...this setup is the best option to overcome the audio processing latency and not try to overtax the CPU on a single box.
Radio Bop is similarly ready for live operation with two boxes once we get migrated over. DRS was easier to program our format in than SAM which we used for 60s and ROOTS until we discovered SPL. DRS's eccentric owner Mark has taken 5 years to get the next version to almost past beta and support is extremely sucky...you pretty much have to solve your own problems after a smart alec usually curt useless answer to your tech request.

When our network was completely running, most stations used StationPlaylist, which is definitley the best option for Internet Radio stations. It's a simple interface, the creator program is a great scheduler program. The other stations used SAM which was a bit more tricky, but SPL is more user friendly.
