Best TV Theme Songs Ever?

Ultimajock said:
The Beatles ("A Hard Day's Night" 1965-67)

I thought "Can't Buy Me Love" was heard over the opening and "AHDN" over the closing. ???

ixnay
(who heard "Drive My Car" fade on the muzak speaker as I typed this)

i will do a few from the soap operas:
Another World: "Another World Theme" by Charles Paul and "(You Take Me Away To) Another World" by Crystal Gayle and Gary Morris
Guiding Light : Variations on "Romance" and "La Lanterne / La Lumiere" and "My Guiding Light (Theme)" and "Aphrodite
Waltz" i might also add early 1970s mid-program break theme "Rue d'Or"
As The World Turns: "Theme for 'As the World Turns'" by Charles Paul and the "Simple Melody,"music box like piece used for mid-progam breaks

So many great theme songs over the years, almost all of mine have been mentioned. One no one has mentioned is the Jetsons. Smokin big band with an attitude.
Cool thread.

A bunch that come to mind...(in no particular order)

Jonny Quest
Perry Mason
Green Acres
Petticoat Junction (end theme instrumental)
Hogan's Heroes (end theme)
Beauty and the Beast (Linda Hamilton-Ron Perlman version)
The Flip Wilson Show
MacGyver
Superfriends (first series)
Sheena, Queen of the Jungle ("Irish" McCalla version, end theme w/strings & harp)
Mission: Impossible
Mannix
The Edge of Night (50's/early 60's piano & organ end theme)
The Rifleman
Wendy and Me
Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour (end credits)

Great as they are, I'm not sure if the Beatles songs really qualify, as they were just the use of existing songs. (Something like variety shows that used their host's biggest hit as a theme; Sonny and Cher, Tom Jones, Tony Orlando & Dawn, etc.) Hats off to all the talented composers who have worked in TV!

The instrumental theme to the 1980's private eye series 'Ve$as' with the late Robert Urich, Phyllis Davis, Bart Braverman & Judy Landers (first year at least).
