Best VO for a Hot AC Station?

M

You're gonna laugh...

The genius that I am, I replied to the earlier thread about VO for Hot AC stations.
The result? A google bot picked it up. Now, when you type my name in Google, 'Worst VO for Hot AC stations' shows up.

This is not good for business.

So, since the Radio-Info's admins say there is nothing they can do , I've taken the matter into my own hands...

THIS thread is my lame, dorky attempt to balance-off that Google bot. :D

Wonder if it works...

Anyway, who IS the best VO for Hot AC stations nowadays? Your thoughts?

Honestly.. yours sounds pretty good.

I REALLY like the guy who does 107.9 The Mix in Salt Lake City. Anyone know his name? I think I remember hearing him on 96.5 The Buzz in KC, and WPST in Trenton a while back.

The guy we have on our station... eh... he's pretty good. We're contracted in for a year though. We go through Vanilla Gorilla

Hey Beejus / Doctor Radio,
Thank you very much for the kind words. I didn't really expect that. Helped my day get started on the right foot! :)

Beejus - I'll try to find out the answer to you question.. (107-9 The Mix)

Doc - You're right on the money. Sean Caldwell is fantastic! Real stand-up guy too.
I would use him on almost any format.

(Warning: Unnecessary, long-winded story follows...)

We used Sean on 98-9 the Buzz in Rochester, and were so pleased, we then considered him for Alice 105-9 in Denver.
Sean gets back to me to tell me he can't because he's already committed to a VERY local community talker... something like that.
Long story short, he honored his committement with them regardless of the size and history of Alice.
I always thought that was pretty cool and good business.

[sidenote: We ended up renewing James Justice.]

Thanks again fellas!

When I listen to your demos for Hot AC and Rock, the first thing that comes to mind is versatility...and that is great (I liked the read on the ocean filled with beer promo)!! I have worked with many big name voices who don't get sarcasm or drama or how to add a little personality to their reads. They have big voices and the same delivery for every line and format.

The other person who comes to mind with the great versatility and creativity is Jeff Berlin...he "gets" copy better than most v.o. guys and gals.

Good luck!
