with the demise of the RG, EVH "Mad Pundit Radio' is no longer.

It is currently hosting 'Crazy' Coz Carson's latest show. ::)

Who do you think has the best weekend talk show?

I enjoy Ike Newkirk's (790) 'conspiracy corner', for a good chuckle, and the long lived 'Frank and Joe' show (1230 ) .

Do they still air the 'Arum Expedition' on Sat nights? ???

who gets your vote?

Check out "The Paula Gordon Show," Sundays, at 5pm. It's on WGUN, 1010 AM.
It's really an intellectual discussion of current topics....way over the heads of the average radio listener....but if you are the "unusual" thinking listener you may like the program.
I also like John Adam's real estate show on 1160, Dr. Gene's show on investing, also 1160, I sometimes wake up or Mike K on WSB Sundays....but I usually want to hear bluegrass/country on WRFG instead of financials on Sunday morning.
And who doesn't like "youv'e absolutely have no case" attorney on WSB/weekends!

OK....(try again Tom) it's "you've got absolutely no case" attorney Bill Handel. "Handel on the Law" is the show.
And if you want to open up the question to radio in general:
Kimberdoooo on WRAS with the kiddie show. I heard, and learned Little Bunny Foo Foo on that show. My kids love that show!
Bluegrass/country with Sharon Wiggins/Fred McIssacs on WRFG, Sunday mornings, 9-11AM

people like car talk, never heard the show, what is the charm of it? tribble actually does a better job with politics than he does sports.

swim or die with rob tribble from 680 the fan and lucky jr. a good listen, funny informative a bit irreverant

they haven't aired last 2 weeks..sometimes they are on, and sometimes they dissapear.

wonder why? I like them as well.

I think the best show is brandon adams and jeff wolverton on 790. Not necessarily during football season, but when sports are slow around here. they've got good chemistry and i usually laugh out loud a couple of times which is more than i can say about a lot of other shows.

If you're not tuning in to Bob Costas on Sat afternoon - WGST (amazining huh?), you're missing a helluva show. Has comedians on and the who's who of sports. I don't miss it.

Thanks for the plug Brandon's mom/wife? How anyone can listen to Brandon Adams is beyond me. He sounds like he has a sandwich in his mouth everytime he speaks. Add that to his I'm on speed delivery and he grates on me to no end.

It's different. The guys are funny (though sometimes corny). They are creative and down to earth with the callers; go back and forth with jabs at each other and keep their energy level up the entire show.

There are parts of the show that aren't "car talk" but are entertaining - like the 'puzzler'.

I really enjoy Ike Newkirk. I do wish though that he would actually challenge and debate the "fre-fers" that call his show.

Someone once described his listeners and callers as the "Sunday Breakfast Club" which is pretty appropriate because it does seem that same folks call every week. Oh well, what more can you expect from a Sunday morning public affairs program?

Poor Ike. First they took him off Star 94 (they simulcasted the show from 6-7AM), and now (it appears) they cut Ike down to 6-8AM and put a golf show on from 8-9.

Woolverton and Adams? It sounds like college radio at best. Adams is informative but never takes a breath. Woolverton has the worst voice ever to air on a sports station or major market radio. He hits higher octaves than a boys choir.
They must be rewarding him with air time because he is unlistenable. Peter Brady on sports.

Oh my God? You have kids Tom? This world is too much, or Im getting too old !
My kids love that show, thats unreal. Oh well, I have three grown boys myself !
As far as talk shows go, Handel on the law is ok.. Ike Newkirk is really fun to laugh at,
I listened this morn. I do not agree with his politics, but a funny show, and a great voice
has Ike.

Rex: I have 5 kids....15 to 4. I'm teaching one to drive now(sigh)without any medication.(Just how DO you do that withour alcohol or drugs??) Yes....time is passing quickly!
I'm surprised we are the only ones who like Kimberdoo's show. It is perfect for a Saturday morning!

More than the M-F Regular Guys going away, it's the Saturday morning replay and Eric's afternoon show no longer around that bum me out.
Maybe some people feel the need for a break on Saturday mornings, but I would rather have more news/political shows than listen to golf, car, shrubs, money or home improvement talk. At least one alternative that goes through the whole morning. Ike is about it and I can only tolerate that for so long (idiots run amok).

After the college football season ends I'll really have nothing good to listen to on weekend mornings.
