Best wishes Holderfields

Tomorrow at 2pm there will be services in Elba for Susie Holderfield, wife of Doug Holderfield. She passed away this weekend after an extended illness. The Holderfield family own and operate WVVL in Enterprise. Good people, excellent broadcasters, extremely community oriented. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the family. Good people, please keep them in your prayers.

you beat me to it Stewy.....I just came on line to put this up on the list.....btw, the funeral home is Hayes Funeral Home in Elba....unfortunately I won't be able to be there since I have to be in Orlando at a meeting.

My condolences to Mike and the Holderfield family.

Charlie

It's a sad day for radio broadcasters. Both Susie and Doug have spent countless hours, devoting their lives, and heart to radio. My thoughts and prayers are with Doug, Mike and the rest of Holderfield family.

My condolences to the family as well. I worked for Doug and Susie at WZTZ in ELba in the early 90's and left to take a job at WXUS then on to WTVY. Have regretted leaving ever since. Doug was great to work for and would actually let you "program" without interference. A class act for sure, plus he raised the best radio engineers I've had the pleasure to know for about 29 years, Mike Holderfield.

My condolences to Mike and Doug. I worked for Doug at WZTZ when it first went on the air. I worked alot with Susie during those days. She was always very nice to work with. She never "pulled rank" and always did her share of the work. Doug and Susie made radio FUN back in those days! My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and Doug.

I agree the Holderfields are a wonderful family, and judging from my experiences I am sure great people to work for,....my best wishes to them.

Thank you all for the kind words. I showed them to my Dad.
There is no one like mama.

Mike

Hey Mike, tell your dad to stay strong. I know he's going through the toughest part of his life right now. But he's a great man with great things still ahead. You hang in there too, my friend. Your mom was a special friend, and I will always remember her as such.

Mike -- My thoughts and prayers are with you and family during these difficult times.

Please pass on my condolences to your Dad.

Sincerely,

Garrett
