Best Wishes on Your New Venture, Joe Thomas

Joe did his farewell edition of "Rummage World" Saturday on WDEL and said on the air that he was off to Amtrak following the airshift for a "morning radio job south of the Mason-Dixon Line."

The best of luck, Joe. Let us know where you are headed if/when the time is right!!

Joe is the epitome of a pro, both on and off the air. It was a pleasure to work with him
at WDEL. Best of luck, Joe! If you ever wanna hit a Rochester/Philadelphia NLL game, drop a line. :)

Any word on who might be replacing him?

Thank you all for the kind words and I'll let you know where I'll be soon. In the meantime, Spencer Graves will be stepping into the position of Saturday mornings as well as "6th man" to use basketball parlance. (Though, according to Saturday's "Delaware Story," Phillies PR guru Larry Shenk said that if his retirement gets too quiet, he'll come and take over the show! :D

BTW, I used to do some PR for the New York Saints back in the days of the Gait Brothers on Philly.

I also want to take a moment here to thank everyone at Delmarva and especially Pete Booker (to date, the only person that I've ever worked for twice), Mike Reath, Rick Jensen, and the whole family at WDEL/WSTW but especially, Greg Lance, Dave Valee, Steve Michaels, Edie Scott, Frank Gerace and my producer Eric Diffendahl, for all their help during my stay in Wilmington. (I wanted to do that on the air but ran out of time.)

.....and don't forget Lloyd Roach, Robert Henson, Madaline in Avondale, Gene from the "Land of Ones & Zeros," and Joe Hawk in Coatesville, too! ;<)

They're going to get theirs on the Philly board, (there hasn't been a good WCOJ thread there in a while) but they are certainly worthy of my thanks.

Joe Thomas
