Best / Worst Engineering Jokes

No, this is not about "pranks". This is about jokes. If you made it up, or heard it somewhere, share it here. ;D

With that said, I'll start with this one:

A GM, a Chief Engineer and an IT tech were at lunch one day. As the waitress was bringing them their food, she slipped and fell. The GM says to the CE & IT, "Oh dear, our server is down". :D

IT tech talking to an engineer: MP3 sounds just as good if not better than the wav file you are using on the air.

If that's not a joke I don't know what is.

How many producers and board ops does it take to change a lightbulb?

none... They claim it's the engineer's job. ::)

Probably because the engineer has all the lightbulbs under lock and key, and requires a tri-part lightbulb request form signed by the CE, local finance manager, and GM, all indicating approval by corporate for the expenditure.

BTW, the budget line for light bulbs has been cut 20% this year by corporate because revenue increases have not met corporate projections. Also, increased costs for utilities mean that any lightbulbs purchased must be of at least 20% lower wattage than the lightbulb it's replacing.

Another version of the light bulb joke:

"How many jocks does it take to fix a burned out bulb in the studio?"

Answer: "Two, one to dial the engineer's emergency number while the other complains about the light being out on the air".

TV Sales Manager to the master control operator - I don't understand WHY we can't fit a :34 spot in.

We have a way to deal with that at our shop. Clip edit the end at 30 seconds, and dev the spot as "BtGt ". Translation; Buy thirty, get thirty. Nobody questioned it.

How can you tell when an engineer is an extrovert?
When he talks to you he stares at your shoes and not his own. *rimshot*

Nice... I ca
