Best / Worst processing in Louisiana

Since we've had some processing topics lately id like to know everyones thoughts on this. Pretty much all of the New Orleans stations sound good for their respective formats, In BR 98.1 and 100.7 are so/so. The C.C. cluster there sounds bland since changing to IBOC compatible processing. All the K-LOVE stations around the state sound really good. Heres my champions:

Best
KQID Alexandria
Since WFMF mutilated their airchain Id have to give the nod to KQID Alexandria for best. Their programming isnt what it used to be but they still have a great CHR sound as far as their processing, id say it even rivals stations like KRBE in Houston(again programming isnt what it used to be but they still have a great CHR sound).

Worst
(Tie)
KSMB Lafayette
Ive said it time and time again they over emphasise the mids/highs at the expense of flatter sounding bass and an overly distorted sound on songs with already boosted highs.
KNEK Lafayette
Ive never heard a top rated station that sounded so bad. "S" sounds and symbals sound distorted giving the station a fatuiguing sound

My questions are:

1. I know many people didn't like the mega processed sound WFMF had before, but what did they have BEFORE the transition over to IBOC?

2. Was the expanded stereo effect a result of their usage of the Orban 222A? I just gotta know, but everyone I've asked is not quite sure.

Anyway, I liked that sound and I REALLY enjoyed the expanded stereo soundstage all of the CC cluster broadcasted in.

Man its been a while since Ive been on RadioInfo..

Best
was WFMF pre HD equipment/processing bull$#*t. Death valley loud-tiger proud! Balls to the wall
KQID right now today. WOW thats nice! Loud yet still clean. Put a video of that airchain & setup on YouTube PLEASE!!!

Mediocre
B97 theres something about it I don't like, but I cannot figure it out
Q93 the bass on that station is up so high that everytime it hits it kills the gain and distorts the highs

Worst
92.3 no highs especially when the signal is weak
106.1 has some sort of weird pumping effect found on urban AC or dance stations

There has always been a "dullness" to KSMB's processing, even when they were an album station before the power boost to C1. They've addressed it some along the way, but it sounds like the changes are multiple "band-aids".

Eagle 98.1 is very loud and very distorted. I dont know how anyone listens to it actually!

100.7 in baton rouge is pretty loud to. but i dont think either one is distorted or distorted to an untolerable level.
unlike the cc cluster in b.r. a radio station needs some sort of loudness factor on air. if not it sounds bland, flat and wimpy............im sure cc regrets having to tone down the master blaster processing wfmf had. man i miss that mega sound they had! it blasted out of any radio i own and im closer to new orleans here in the river parish region..............
