Best & Worst Seattle Morning Shows

I don't know I think KISW has some of that happening with "The Men's Room" they do a great job working their show around the music, sure I know some people would like more music less show, but these guys are fresh and I think that they could definately hold down a Morning Slot on any station in this market and compete. KISW should thank their lucky stars that they have managed to keep these guys in the fold drive-time as it has given them a big boost afternoons.

KISW and KUBE shows are still the Stern mold. The new shows are alive in urban radio, integrating music and mornings. Yet they still tell stories and have fun. That, my friends, is the future. I just hope I get to see the next breed of talent in Seattle before we bury the old ones.

You're kidding, right? These guys are mediocre at best. Just your typical edgy show found at most rock stations around the country. They are nothing special.

Yup, Robin and Maynard are missed mightily by a lot of people. Really, what other radio personalities could be off the air for two years and get the participation in a golf tournament like they did? Maybe Bob and Ray, but nobody around here.

Back to the original thread cowboys ::)

I agree that some shows are aging and a new breed is coming. i do beleive the new breed is here in Seattle. my vote for best of da best:

KISW; Dude has it dialed in and ratings show! damn strong followup to Stern and part of the new breed of morning shwo in seattle
KWFF: 90's bits with today's updating. best of both worlds. Appeals to older benchmark type country listenerr and 18-34 cowboys and gals
KMTT: Keep an eye on this show, pretty damn talented
KIRO: Nice rebuild, watch em on the older end

Those are the stations to watch. Had it but declining over the next few years, still heratige shows:

KZOK
KMPS
KPLZ
KUBE (only in Seattle, poor Tman got killed in SF numbers today.

Shows that gotta go:
KNDD
KBKS
MOVIN
Automated stations

Shows that vote for themselves in local polls, but ain't got any ratings;
KBKS: Winner of the Evening Magazine poll for three years, ratings decline for three years. Guess winnin this is the kiss of death
KEXP: Winner of the Seattle Weekly poll for five years. No one cares.

Actually, I enjoy the Adam Carolla Show. Now if only Roy Otis would get in his cousin Merle's Charger, drive down to LA and kick Danny Bonaduce in the nuts, things would be that much better. ;D

I think we can all agree that the KBKS morning show is broken, but whats the fix? Can the current show be salvaged? If not, whats the solution? Do you move Marcus to mornings and pair him with Jackie? Start from square one with a brand new show? Id love to get some insight on this from the local radio pros, ie Radio Professor!
