Beth Murphy: If this doesn't signal there's a new Cromwell coming...

Wow, longtime Nashville radio sales and management stalwart Beth Murphy joining the Cromwell team as Nashville market manager? If this doesn't signal there's a new Cromwell coming, nothing can. An old ally to many of us, I don't see her putting up with the Cromwell of old.

Not so harsh, Romer. Not ALL of us have worked for Clear Channel. I believe Beth was GSM for Clear Channel Nashville, am I right? Do i win a prize?

Well, I get to not use my usual soapbox anymore. JK and the NEW 102 whatever it's called this hour have finally
axed all of the "fun" business establishment ads...you know the ones. You clean enough skeletons out of that
closet and you can make progress. Let's hope it lasts. Answers or guess on these questions, to me, secure the
fate of this station (one way or another...)

Question #1 - What's going to happen to Trish & Lulu? Will they be canned or just neutered from talking constantly?
Question #2 - 7P-MID needs local for the station to be complete.
Question #3 - The 80's, 90's and Today. Venus FM and V-102 --- hows anyone going to fill out a book and know what the
name of this station is? I assume, and yep, I know what that makes me, that John'll latch onto an exact identity soon enough.
Right now, the Billboards, Ads and Website are all the old Venus 102.5 stuff.

He's making the right moves and I am glad to see it. Plus, I think The Buzz (Everything that Rocks) will follow. I just forget
to listen to that. Any comments on it?

They started tightening up Buzz before they started doing anything with Venus. Buzz is beginning to sound like a good modern rock station.

Venus is also headed toward becoming a decent Hot AC station. They need to cut back the Lulu & Trish segments to only talk-ups and information (some of their current segments don't attract the right audience). And while we're still witnessing a gradual transformation, you'll see new branding as soon as they get where they're going.

My question is more general... Now that they're tightening up these two formats, what viable music formats could we now add to this market? And are there any current music formats in Nashville we can do without?
