Better Connecticut

I have never seen anywhere how people feel about this local program on WFSB. So if you watch "Better Connecticut", what are your general thoughts and opinions on the show? What's good and what could be better about it?

It's a very good show that is doing well and seems to have plenty of advertisers. There is nothing like in it the market so its a good opportunity to showcase local feature type of things. The hosts, Scot and Kara have good chemistry and seem to be having fun.

I know anyone can toot their own horn. And anyone can be number 1 with any demo. They claim to be #1 in their time slot. This is their competition:

8 - Rachael Ray
20 - Catholic Chruch Mass/Infomercial
26 - Infomercials or Church Mass
30 - Today show with Kathie Lee
59 - Religious Show/Infomercial
61 - Jerry Springer

And of course both 18 and 50 (Univision and Telemundo respectively run Spanish Soaps).

Having never watched it for any length of time, I was under the impression it was sort of a local show with syndicated content - is this true?

WFSB's owners (and my employer) Meredith Corp. syndicates it. To my knowledge all the Meredith stations carry it but it's also been picked up by some stations owned by others - Journal Group (WTMJ Milwaukee among others) comes to mind. Local segments air on at least some of the stations.

I heard Scot was surprised by the announcement. I think her name is spelled Sundlun, not Sundland.

WSHM, CBS-3 in Springfield, MA, also run by Meredith, runs a local version of the show called "Better Springfield" in the same time slot as its sister station's "Better Connecticut". When I compared the two versions, the Connecticut version seemed to have much more local oriented programming, while the Springfield version seemed mostly syndicated.
