Better Quality "Emergency!" on Me TV

Me TV finally acquired the master films of "Emergency!" What they were airing were from 16mm, bad splices included. Bonus, these episodes include the original intros instead of what was used for syndication.

Yes, I've noticed that on the last three episodes aired (Mon/Tue/Wed of this week). But the season/episode listing on zap2it.com is a couple of numbers off (episode number) vs. what's shown on the IMDB page for Emergency. I do not recall the original open on NBC, so that made me wonder why toward the end of season one they would have changed the open. Now I know. Was the "syndication" open ever used on its first run later on? What's weird about it is that the Fuller/Troup credit titles seem always to be a light shade of blue, while the other stars' credits (London/Mantooth/Tighe) in the "syndie" open are true white. Have seen the same "some blue, some white" titles in some opens of Adam-12 on MeTV.

As to your "16mm" statement, I don't think that is true. Bad splices--yes, and dirty sections on the film--yes...but it definitely was from 35mm film. Probably the original 35mm prints were used when Universal was preparing the show for syndication.

The syndicated open was used sometime in the middle of the episode run. The intro seemed to change every year.

The source of what they were airing sure did look like 16mm transferred to digital due to the graininess and very bad splices that look like they were fixed with scotch tape. Remember garbage in, garbage out but it may have been all they had until the new source.
