Better Sports Talk Show

Well its been over a year...so lets vote.

Better LOCAL show...

The Happy Hour on ESPN Radio 1230/1320 AM (Tom Fallon, Matt Markus, Jeff Barr, Tim Vogel)
or...
After Further Review on FOX Sports AM 1470 (Bob Holder, Eric Chase, The Apple)

I say ESPN and The Happy Hour.

Even though 1230 and 1320 are lower power than 1470, the combination of them both actually covers more land area with a better signal than 1470. In fact, traveling to Lancaster this past week, I was surprised to hear 1320 on the highways near Reading. I could not say that about 1470: it was gone. I believe 1240 in Reading is also a ESPN affiliate.

As for which is better, that depends on which offers more local coverage, which I don't know since I don't listen to these stations very much. 1230 has the TV 69 connection, that much I do know.

The best sporst show is easily Jack, Joe, and Company on Sunny 1100 WGPA from 9 am to 11 am on saturdays. Nobody knows sports like these guys. Not just the pros, but also High School and College sports.

jack joe and company is great. i agree. sportstalk on WEEU in Reading (if we're allowed to mix Reading in the discussion) is also good. paul roberts knows what he's talking about. also, "Monday evening sportstalk" on Kutztown University Radio is also decent for a college station.

Damn, all these GPA supporters in here(employees) You guys are WAY over biased.. WGPA is an average product at best(and thats being kind) Sorry, I listened, its just not very good IMHO..
Best Sports talk in Market Goes to Tom Fallon and the boys at WEEX hands down, great product, great knowledge, great guests, great show period. And I think every other Nassau product blows, but the ESPN product and the locally originated program is the best in the Valley!

Fallon is a Yankee fan and maybe just a bit biased in that department.

In all honesty so are Mike and Mike in the Morning (Mike Greenberg that is, HUGE Yankee & Jets fan) Golic is a Huge Notre Dame Fan. Fallon is also a HUGE Penn St. and Steeler Fan. Nothing wrong w/ that at all... He might be a Homer at times, but again, sports talk has nothing to do w/ Objectivity, as far as journalistic responsibility goes, its more about the FANS... And we have a ton of Yankee fans in the Valley..
And Pickle, I ain't pickin on you, you do a very good job at WGPA, just seems like too much back slapping for a very small market station (and believe it or not, I worked there in the 1980s). In that instance objectivity is lost, and it turns into more about stroking personal egos.
And again, nothing wrong w/ that either, but when I see threads about part timers being legends, well that can be a little off putting.. thats all I'm saying. However, considering who owns the station and how notoriously cheap he is... you guys do a good job w/ what you have...

ESPN is the best. Programming wise they kick butt. WGPA ? comeeeee onnnnn....Jack Logic is a blowhard. Theres a reason why he wasnt hired at either WEEX or WSAN when they went fulltime ESPN and FOX.

WEEX/WTKZ (Nassau) needs 2 things to be even better...increased signal strength (especially 1320 at night) and streaming live on their website espnlv.com If they get those 2 things their set. But Nassau is cheap, and dont even realize they can make more money by selling commercials on the webstream.

Both Joe Craig and Jack Logic have prominent positions in Education and Adminstration that net them six figures. Therefore I doubt of FT radio gigs are of any interest to them.

I admit Tom Fallon is a good and I actually do not mind Yankees fans. I still root for the unjustly ridiculed Bobby Abreu. He's been a little off as of late but my man Bobby will be back around .290 by the All Star break. And, the Yankees are not out of it. They will make a run!
