Betty White "Close" To Hosting "SNL"

Oh that would be sweet to have her host. It's sure to get a spike in viewers. I honest'y can't bear to watch it anymore, but I'd make an exception for Betty!

I'd watch too! BUT the skits need to funny. It would be hilarious to see Sue Ann Nivens interrupt Weekend Update with a burnt Bundt cake. :D

Or to tell a rambling St. Olaf story!

I vote for Sue Ann Nivens....at her age, Lord that would be funny with the right script.

I loved her Rose character, but the ditz quality would be lost on the SNL crowd....they crave biting adult humour, and a dose of an elderly Sue Ann could rock the house.

An oversexed elderly Sue Ann Nivens hitting on Weekend Update anchor Seth Myers would be hilarious.

Her lines can be much more risqué nowadays compared to 1970s Mary Tyler Moore. Along with her deadpan delivery, it would be awesome.

Betty White is 88? WoW! Good to see she still has it in her!
I wouldn't mind seeing a gameshow sketch with a look a like Regis (or even the real Regis!) since the two seem to maintain good humour already when they are on television together! (What was that show again? Million dollar password or something?)

Her late husband hosted "Password."

Yes but recently there was a Password type show on CBS, hosted by Regis that she showed up on, and the communication between Betty and Regis was priceless.

Sounds great. Maybe it's on You Tube. I watched one episode of that show - the celebrities were Aisha Tyler and William Shatner. I came away impressed by how obviously intelligent Tyler is (beautiful goes without saying), and how nutty Shatner is. He has a history of being stupid and going off emotionally in game shows..I've seen a clip of him throwing furniture around on one of those old Pyramid shows. He didn't throw furniture this time, but he was pretty out there.

Shatner's an idiot. (And this is coming from a Star Trek fan.) But Betty White owned Password. And nearly any other game show she was on. (Except for that one game show she hosted in the '80s.) And the Snickers commercial during the Super Bowl was eye-wateringly hilarious! I'd watch SNL if she hosted. The only other one I actually watched recently was the Peyton Manning-hosted show a couple-three years ago. Comedy gold, especially with the United Way commercial.

And the Password-type show on CBS was, ironically enough, "Million-Dollar 'Password'."

Betty White was also a frequent celebrity panelist on Match Game 7x/PM. Now that I think back, she was a BUSY woman back then with a recurring role on MTM, frequently on Password with her husband, Match Game, Tattletales, other game shows, and guest-starring on other television shows. Amazing she's still going at 88!
