Bev was on the Wake Up Crew's radiothon earlier. That was pretty cool. Even after CC gave her the shaft, it takes a classy person to do that. It's a great cause, and it was great hearing her on the radio again. I wish 103 could find another way to get her back on.

And does anyone know when/where Jarman will pop up again? After being fired what, like 90 times, figure it won't be long before he shows up somewhere. Like a bad penny, he always turns up! ;D Besides, I miss the Superman into music!
 
I hate I missed hearing Bev on the Radiothon today. I listened some yesterday and it just sounded flat. No beds under the talk & without Bev there it just seemed like a big piece of it was missing. She did say wouldn't miss out on the Radiothon, and she held true to her word. Very classy :) There should be more like her.
 
Yeah, I had a very hard time listening this year..... I really hate I missed Spencer proclaiming "this is Tim, BEV and the Bad Dog" and the big cheer from the room this morning but I did catch John teasing Bev that Hell must have frozen over since she was sitting in with them.... man, I miss that camaraderie.... :'(

And Jarjar is still kicking somewhere, he logged into his "myspace" page today so I guess we don't have to pay the ransom just yet... :D
 
Bev came to work at 103 when I was working there when the studios were at 1385 Lamar. Bev had class then and after all the years in the biz, she still proves that she is a true pro! I am not surprised one bit that she showed up on the Radiothon. I am certain that she did it for the cause. Bev is a class act. Good luck girl!!

I think most of us in this industry will agree that "all this" ain't about "us." It's about helping when and where we can. I think we all can get a great deal of motivation from Bev and Jarman's attitude about helping out such a great cause. It really shows where their hearts are and shines a positive light on the industry as a whole. THAT is what it's all about! I for one am motivated by their gesture and commitment to simply HELP. Way to go to everyone involved in that whole deal, but especially to Bev and Jarman for showing up, participating and setting an example for us all. A benchmark! I hope I continue to be inspired by your work. ;)

I think that Bev is on the board of directors for the RMH. Bad Dog and Spencer may be too for all I know. They do a hellava job during the radiothon....and our thoughts and best wishes go out to you Bev.
 
You should've seen the switch in atmosphere when Bev was on both days. It was tangible from where I sat.

I don't know Bev personally, but have listened to her forever. It really sucks what happened to her. HOW exactly can you fire 1/3 of a morning show? Was she the 1 out of the 3 with lower ratings? Does Arbitron have a methodology we don't know about? WTF?
 
I wonder if CC has figured out yet that Less ain't More... ;)

Why are you calling out CC? Seems to me that another morning show lost one of their own a week before, yet nary a mention. Is it just that it's so easy to pick on number one? C'mon...learn some creativity.

Because it's easy. Forget the bloodletting by Entercom when they purchased the CBS prop.

Everyone is downsizing. It's every industry. Layoffs just ain't in radio.

FM Sales is right...because it's easy! No, really - because this thread was about Bev & Jarman...who were employed by CC. But you're right too...R&K are a bit shallow without Steve too. FM Sales is also right on another point...it seems everyone is downsizing, with one exception: sales. Whether they have anything or anyone left to sell or not!

and... "Less ain't More" -- I thought I was being creative!!! ;D

Yes, I know I am right, even though you are twisting my words, or at least the intent of my words. Dissing CC is easy to some who tend to ignore they ain't the only ones doing what they do, but they are targeted because they are the 800-pound gorilla.
 
I sure am seeing a lot of Tim & Bad Dog boards up lately. Just an observation.
 
Yeah, I noticed that too. The best defense being a good offense, I suppose....

Same here. And they seem to be somehwat generic, while the old ones really pushed the personalities. They had to scramble to get all the ones down that had Bev on them when the cuts happened.
