Bev Brandon of "Matt and Bev Show"- Is she still at WAIM-AM 1230 in Anderson?

Is Bev still working in sales at WAIM-AM 1230 in Anderson? Why don`t they put her back on the air? What is the status of WAIM`s FM FCC new station request? They was an article a few months ago saying that they were working with the FCC to get a new frequency for a new WAIM-FM! Does antone know what the frequency will be?

I remember in the late 1980's and early 90's that Matt Phillips hired and fired her ore times because of her bouts with the bottle and hope that she has gotten herself dried out as well. She was a nice lady and met her on several occasions and had wondered where she had gotten too after Phillips died .

Yes, Matt Phillips fired her back about 1990? She finally got clean and sober. It may be noted that her replacement was a nice young man who had a car accident after she came back and died. I am sorry that I can`t remember his name-he had moved to the 10 am-3 pm slot after that. Bev did return and was on there with Matt until he died in aug. 1997. Bev stayed on the Morning show and was paired with G.M. John Woodson. They actually kept the name of the show "Matt and Bev" until early 1999!!!!!! The show was then renamed "For The People" and kept the same format. John didn`t really gel with Bev like Matt did. Around 2000, they moved Bev to WANS am 1280 doing a live Morning show with Pork Chop Branch. John Woodson went solo on the WRIX-FM Morning show. By the summer of 2003, John Woodson had left WRIX for Tri-County Tech. Former solicitor (and frequent Matt and Bev guest) George Duckworth was paired with Pork Chop for the "Morning Show" on WRIX. WANS just played Beach Music in the Morning and Bev was gone! She then popped up working for WAIM-AM 1230 as the sales manager. She did commericals for them also. At some point around 2004, she got cancer, but beat it! At one point, Georgia talk show host Ludlow Porch (who was then heard on WAIM) came up and did a benefit for her. She then went back to a regular schedule at WAIM-AM. Why don`t they put her live on the air there? Is she still there?

I am happy to hear that she is now clean and sober. She was really good at what she did, the bottle just kept her being great and am happy to hear that she beat cancer as well.
