Bham Arbitrons

Nov-Jan arbitrons are out today. Kiss loses some ground, while WZZK moves up to the #2 spot; Jamz moves down to #4. WDJC takes a hit while The Peach continues to do well, amidst the weaker signal over Birmingham. WAGG is up; the "new" Rock 99 is flat. Guess who is at the bottom rung? Here's a hint...their call letters end in "E". ;)

Here's a link to the ratings:

Things to watch for in the next few reports.

What effect will the loss of the WERC AM/FM simulcast have on WERC-FM?

Will WJOX maintain their share when there is no major sports stories in the state?

Will WYDE-FM make it to a 1 share? (I don't know why I asked that. I already know the answer)

Combining the numbers for WAPI-AM & FM, it looks like flipping the FM to talk is paying off. Magic got a little bit of a bump from the Christmas music, as usual. And WZRR looks dead in the water, unless their 25-54 numbers are a lot better than their 12+'s.

Given how WZRR appears stuck in neutral and not getting anywhere with the revamped format, could a "99 WAPI-FM" be on the horizon in order to take advantage of the stronger signal? It delivered big dividends before when Citadel moved 'Jox down from 100.5 to the 94.5 frequency.

Rock 99's Summer numbers were great (Top 3 Men), and the Fall Men 25-54 was ok. But given the fact they competed for men with JOX (football, Cam Newton and now the trees), Magic with Christmas, and The Eagle's normal Spring/Fall blitz, I think they'll bounce back.

Agreed about the Peach continuing to do well. It seems like WMJJ agrees too from their "expanded" playlist. ;D

Rock 99 has lost some listeners (including this one) due to the morning format. :'(
