Bid4Spots.com coming to internet radio

I read on RAIN that Bid4Spots would begin auctioning off available ad inventory on internet stations. I signed up for it as it looks as a great way to actually bring in revenue. Anyone else going to look at this avenue? Or are most people going to remain ad free and spend tons of money in royalties and bandwidth.

LOL! Great line!

"Or are most people going to remain ad free and spend tons of money in royalties and bandwidth".

Yea, soup kitchen food as long as my internet stream is up!

I signed up for this, we'll see if its worth a damn...

My suspicion is that only stations with 10k+ listener counts get anything, which excludes everyone but Clear channel.

Well it seems as if a 100 listener average is all you have, you can get in so good news!

The system uses SOS or SAM4 and pays based on impressions (just like banner ads) so basically the more stations the better would be the way the system works. Plus smaller stations are less likely to bid the crap out of some ads and lower the price because they would then in turn get a much smaller cut if they won.....

Another auction is tomorrow, let's see what happens!

If $1 per 1000 listeners tuned in per 30 second spot played appeals to you, then you'll want to get in on this :/

$1 was the high number, the other 2 spots were less than 75 cents.

Hopefully this will get better as the weeks go by, because this is really cheapening this business selling airtime for this puny amount...

That is a woefully low rate.

Looks like webcasters will have to continue to rely on banner and tile ad sales, links to Amazon, CafePress trinkets and T-shirts and Google Adsense to make the needed cash to keep going.

Should you continue with the Bid4Spots program, keep us posted.

I was very disappointed with the quality and the cpm rates, however another cat got thrown into the pigeons last week, namely that Loudcity whom many of us license through renewed their agreement with SESAC and that prevents us from running in-stream ads at the moment. This is primarily due to lack of accountability and SESAC do want their piece of the pudding.

Sometimes it feels as if we're wandering around with one hand tied behind our back and the rope for the second hand is being strapped on :)
