Big 106 Question

Does anyone remember the first couple years of Big 106 when they were a 70's station, then classic hits? I think Gnarly Charlie was a drive time DJ, as Mike Rivers.

Wondering if there are any MP3's or airchecks on the web from this era...

I remember "Big 106, Big 70's hits." I was really excited to finally hear Howard Stern's radio show for the first time. It was '93 right?

what do you want to know? I put Big 106 on as a consultant for David Ross. Dave Denver was the PD from day 1. Howard in the morning, Classic Hits rest of the day.

It had to be mid to late '94 because I moved back to South Florida in April 1994 and at that time it was still WAXY, playing oldies with Rick Shaw in the morning.

According to The Herald it flipped to 70s hits on August 26, 1994.
