Big Announcement On KRLD-AM 10AM

Jay McFarland just announced he is leaving KRLD today. Ernie Brown will be on with him at 10 am to announce big changes on Monday. Jay says he is leaving for job in Salt Lake Cty.

I guess the hated Gil-bear has started making his mark. I thought he was going to start with The Fan first...maybe he realized nothing can be done about it.
 
Good because they suck @ talk. Especially Chris Salsa or whatever his name is. He's just Limbaugh lite with a Taco

A big difference is that Chicago is still a reasonably healthy AM market in contrast to Dallas. Plus market #3 is older demographically and less Hispanic (24.3% vs. 17.7%) than D/FW.

Although I'll add KRLD to my presets and wish them nothing but the best, I don't see "all news, all day" working here. D/FW is in the sunbelt, which has not been a favorable environment for that format.

Hey wait. I called Mcfarlin leaving last week! I am surprised by the all news because I heard they just let a couple reporters go.
 
Tube- they're advertising for news help.
Mark Willis went to Tulsa, L.P went to St. Louis; both chose to leave, as far as I know.
What will Ernie do now?
 
The other question is: When will KRLD FM become all news? They could still carry Cowboys, Rangers and TMS (along with help from KLUV). Gotta simulcast on FM to get the younger demo and compete with BAP... just sayin'
