Big Bang Theory to air on HBO Max

https://deadline.com/2019/09/hbo-ma...able-window-mega-deal-warnermedia-1202736725/

Mission accomplished! One of WarnerMedia brass’ top goals for the company’s upcoming streaming service HBO Max was to have the biggest comedy series of the past couple of decades, Friends and The Big Bang Theory — both produced by sibling Warner Bros. TV — at launch to help drive subscribers to the new offering.

After shelling out $425 million for the exclusive streaming rights to Friends, taking it away from Netflix, HBO Max has secured the exclusive streaming rights to all 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory. This marks the first ever streaming pact for past seasons of the hugely popular series, which recently finished its 12-season run on CBS.

AT&T has announced that they have the broadcast rights to air Big Bang Theory on HBO Max.

Don't think it's related, but the Mood TV service at McDonald's still shows a clip of The Big Bang Theory on occasion. It's all content from CBS all the time. The clips are still tagged with "Thursdays on CBS". Maybe that will stop at the end of the month? Who knows?

This irritating farce of a comedy has been in constant syndication since before the original airings were done. Who in their right mind hasn't by now seen the whole sorry series several times by now?

I want one of those HBO Suits' jobs. It has to be fall down easy!

If they already owned Friends why did they need to pay $425 mil for the rights.

WB doesn't own the show outright. The production company owns the show. Every time a new platform comes along, that requires another deal with the producers. If you produced a hit show, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

I wonder how CBS will do in ratings now on Thursday nights with Young Sheldon headlining.
