Did anyone catch Thursday's premiere of BBT? I couldn't believe the amount of sexual innuendo in those 2 episodes. It's almost like they are trying to make the show more edgy, but it was far too much to the point that it got annoying. It doesn't really fit the context of that type of show. Thoughts?
 
innuendo and dirty jokes are only good in small doses. If you do it too much it becomes annoying and juvenile. It starts to sound like a junior high locker room or worse. If you constantly go for the cheap laugh or lowest common denominator, it cheapens your product and the writers come off as immature and desperate.
 
I agree with the OP and was equally surprised at the level of the sexual jokes. I'm certainly no prude, and there were some good exchanges, but I thought maybe the old writers from "Two and a Half Men" had been reassigned to write for BBT. ???
 
There was enough sexual innuendo the few times I watched that show for me to know I didn't want to watch it any more. And that was pre-Thursday, even back a couple years ago. :)
 
The first episode was bad. I thought, "Oh no, is this how it's gonna be." It is my least favourite episode of the series. But the second episode came back very strong, it was quite good.
 
I thought both episodes were really good. And Penny is pretty again. She has looked like such a slob in recent episodes, although she does really well otherwise, and it's not just her good looks that make her a great character.

The Penny character would be totally out of place dressed up. After all, the rest of the cast are supposed to be super geeks and put on whatever is on top of the clean clothes pile.

Not dressed up. Like she was on her two episodes last week. Her hair actually looked nice and her face looked pretty.
