Big Bill Love out at Regent/Evansville?

Big Bill Love has been removed from the DJ page at www.wkdq.com. Someone named Leslie Morgan (a WRAY veteran) is listed in the Mid-days slot that Big Bill had occupied for so long.

Any confirmation or details?

I've been told through the grapevine Big Bill's "retirement" was a mutual agreement. He will stay on for part time work, my guess is hosting the classic country show.

Always a great entertainer. I'm sure this is a budget thing. And his age. WKLO Rules!

I'm hearing this was a payroll cutting deal, somewhat along the lines of ditching the news staff back in April. Big Bill's going to stay on doing production work 10 hrs a week (but no on-air duties), I'm told. I think it sucks.

I'm working to get an article together for the Courier & Press on this and have reached out to station management for more details. If they tell me anything, you'll know soon.

I believe Bill Love worked at the old WAKY in Louisville back in the 1960s.

Nope, he was at WKLO in the early 70's. During the mid sixties he did nights at WLAP Lexington and a few other places....http://bigbilllove.com/

I know ... Regent has shown, with the "mass exodus" of the news staff in April, and now Big Bill, they've shown that they do these things quickly.

I'll have a full story in tomorrow's Evansville Courier & Press (it should be online as well) with the station's official response. Will post a link to it as soon as my boss gets it to me.

A note that he was at WBKR prior to WKDQ (the second time).
