Big Boy Signs ABC Syndication Deal

Big Boy Signs ABC Syndication Deal. Expect for him to pop up in the following markets:
Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Birmingham, San Antonio.
hmmm

Big Boy is a dj from LA, on Power 106, am drive time. His name comes from his former body size, but in the last 4 yrs he has lost more than 250 pounds. He has been named major market personality of the year several times by several trade magazines and award shows, and the NAB has given him the Marconi Award twice. He has also had cameo roles in several movies and tv shows.

I remember reading on, I believe it was the N/T forum, how ABC is strong-arming some affiliates to carry Mark Levin if they wish to continue carrying the more popular Sean Hannity.

Methinks Big Boy will be roped into the same scenario, only this time involving another popular afternoon drive host, Michael Baisden.

Big Boy's Morning Show won't pop up here in ATL. Most Urban stations that currently carry ABC's Doug Banks Morning Show or Radio One's Russ Parr Morning Show are the stations he would most likely end up on. That gives Urban hip-hop radio a new 3rd choice for syndicated mornings since Star and Buckwild were dropped from Clear Channel a while back.

Would Cox opt for it to replace Murph Dawg over at 95.5 The Bee-YAT?

If not, then I doubt it'd be here. But, of course, stranger things have happened.

Hot 107-9 would be the only possibility here in Atlanta. Michael Baisden skews to an older audience than Big Boy and usually airs on urban AC stations, so I don't think ABC will be pushing 102.5 or other urban AC's around the U.S. to drop the highly-successful Steve Harvey, another urban AC show, for Big Boy.

Big Boy has popped up a couple of times playing himself on Entourage on HBO. I recall the episode where Vince called his mom to come to the Aquaman premiere on Big Boy's show.
