looking at 95X's website they no longer list Big Smoothie as a DJ. Has X lost another jock?? Will Beaner and/or Ken now do laughtracked errrr i mean voice tracked nights?

This is what it looks like when a station implodes. Changes happen and the staff doesn't believe in the change so they leave or are forced out. There is no amount of changes you can impose on a station that will keep it an opponent if the morale is low. Listen to the stations in this market and you can hear it. B104, TK99, Krock, Hot and NTQ all have DJ's that are pretty happy. You can hear it. Whether it be because of their leaders or their success, they sound successful. Power, X, Dog, and Sunny don't sound good because their staffs morale is in the toilet. Whether the rating show it or not, you can hear a successful station by the attitude of their jocks. Props to the good leaders, and shame on the shitty leader.

Why would these stations sound "so different" being that some of the "sad" people and some of the "happy" people all work for the same company with the same leaders that you speak of. I don't blame Big Smoothie for leaving either, he's a rock guy and 95X is obviously a more classic rock station now. It's nothing against him or the company, just not a fit anymore.

Change is a bee-yatch for all of us and there are times when it's better to cut and grow to get what you want rather than to hang and wilt on the vine.
But, if there are some people who sound "down" on the air because of the numbers or the crap that's going down inside the station, then they're doing a lousy job as performers. Good performers "leave it outside the door" because it's freakin' show business. Suck it up. Never let 'em see you sweat or panic. Give 'em a show.
The average mook who's listening doesn't want to hear how sh*tty your day is/was/will be. He/she has problems of his/her own and by comparison, your problems may seem like a day at the beach. It's the ratings-delivery business. Give 'em the ten in a row that you promised. You may despise Boston, but if your customers want more Boston, let 'em have it with a sense of appreciation that they're coming to you to get it. There are just too many damn choices out there to piss away customers.
I know it sounds like the "happy idiot" syndrome, but it's the state of the marketplace these days and you might as well do what has to be done to the best of your abilities in order to compete with the guy down the dial or on the satellite.</font>
