That would be, what, rocker #5?

We'll have: 93.3, 94.1, 94.5, 102.9 & 104.5 all playing the exact same thing?

PLUS 95.7 which is about 2/3 Rock
PLUS 102.1 which plays hit Rock songs
PLUS 101.1 playing Soft Rock

Can you say "FAILURE"?

You say "in the market" suggesting the Philadelphia market... This goes back to the time 97.5 was The Hawk and people thought it was among other rockers "in the Philadelphia market".

I'm highly skeptical. They just tweaked a little more adult leaning, and from what I've heard... they always have a great spotload.

If it happens, I'll eat my words... but I HIGHLY doubt PST would do anything.

PST could get away with it if it so chooses. I remember back in my younger days, when the economy was tanking, they gravitated toward alternative rock. As did Z-100 at the time. Think pre-Clinton years...lol. They have the latitude and luxury to play pretty much whatever they feel like. This past weekend while visiting NJ I had them on, seemed like they were playing some good back in the day stuff from Smashing Pumpkins and things of that nature. I say rock on.

PST better not change formats. They're honestly the only Top 40 area radio station for Central NJ. Then they'll have nothing! Z100 doesn't come in well in Ocean County nor does Q102. They've always been Top 40 in NJ they should stay that way.

That would be, what, rocker #6?

We'll have: 93.3, 94.1, 94.5, 102.9, 104.5 & 105.7 all playing the exact same thing?

PLUS 93.7 which is mostly more on the rock side of todays top 40 music
PLUS 95.7 which is about 2/3 Rock
PLUS 102.1 which plays pop Rock songs
PLUS 101.1 playing Soft Rock

dont forget 105 on the eastern edge of philadelphia and lower bucks county

i know what i wish they would do with 94.5...but i anit gonna say it...u all know what it is

Yes, because 102.9 and 104.5 are practically the same station. So many similarities in those two playlists! 101.1 is far from any for of "rock", its waiting room/dentist office background noise. 102.1 is whatever is popular, maybe more rock hits in the recent, yes. And if you're throwing in any station you managed to recieve with your boombox over your head, bent at an angle (105.7, 102.5, an AM repeater in Lancaster you swore you pulled in once), throw 106.5 in there, used to listen to that all the time on the old system.

I miss the PST format of my high school years...a balanced CHR. I wish it were more rhythmic like 103.5 Kiss FM in Chicago.

Why would PST change to a rock format? Doesn't make any sense. They're ratings in Trenton are always good I believe, though they don't really have competition and they really won't make dent in Philly regardless of format. They seem to be doing just fine.

hey Jersey, Q is 90 percent urban, 104.5 is nothing like MGK, Ben is pop and the B is far from rock so we have three count em' three rockers in the sense of the word where the market is over saturated with urban formats, last year this time there was one rocker and 90 percent of the dial was urbanic, did anyone complain nope, you rock haters take me out and will do anything to down rock....

yo said it man! this time last year philly radio was at an all time low, with 97.5 the hawk gone, ysp playing talk, mgk playing the same 20 slow songs over and over again, 104.5 playing m usic that shouldnt be on the radio anywhere in this country. all we had was MMR and 105.7, but not everyone can gewt that only the eastern edge of the market.

now the market is great, MMR is rockin as good as ever, YSP sounds great now that the rock is back, MGK pumped up their music a little bit and are leaning much heavier than they were and sound 1000 times better, 104.5 is a great station that has most of the deeper album cuts and seems to be doing VERY well. and for those hawk fans, we have 105.7 now, so everythings good.

PST is a good station the way it is...why would they change it? dont fix whats not broken. PST and STW are the greatest top-40 stations ever, even thpugh PST's signal sucks (only out west because of lancasters WDAC), but other than that, its good to go.
