Big D and Bubba start off with a canned interview!

Wow what a disappointment BiG D and Bubba debut with a canned Kenney Chesney interview. Then to lie and make you think he was in the studio, classic CC bait and switch. The Bull is just that Bull! Didn’t your mother ever tell you no one likes a liar! :'(

I hate to burst the CC bashing bubble here but if you think that CC are the only ones who do canned interviews then you need a dose of reality. There are even prep services that provide canned interviews to their affiliates. Cumulus and a lot of mom and pops are just as guilty.

And no I don't work for CC. I work for a much smaller company.

I thought it was particularly comical that they randomly picked a phone number, called it, and the person told them she couldn't take calls at work and hung up. Did anyone else hear that this morning?

More than anything else, I have a problem with a country station that plays Fleetwood Mac, John Mellencamp and old Jimmy Buffett.

I agree, Fleetwood Mac doesn't belong on a country station. But Jimmy Buffett had about a dozen songs that were in the top 100 on the country charts from 1973 to '86...none of them were "hits" per se, but they were playing. "Margaritaville" was a top 20...He didn't have a #1 until "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" a few years back with Alan Jackson. I don't know of a country station around here that hasn't spun some Buffett at least at some point in their history.

As for the John Mellencamp, the only thing that comes to mind for him was a duet he did with Travis Tritt a couple of years ago, and of course he has "Our Country" out now (which is being used in Chevy Truck commercials). I don't think he's as much out of place as Fleetwood Mac is, but I'm not sure how big of a hit "Our Country" is, either.

My point "a lot of mom and pops" CC is the largest radio group with the most country stations this is market
