Were they on this morning? The mid day jock (Paul Koffee?) was on and never mentioned them. Or did I miss something? ???

I heard them this morning just before 8. My question is...are they really live? They give out the local phone number saying, "If you want to be part of the show..." Believe it or not, I'm thinking they might be live (from Nashville) because they talk about the Braves game from the night before.

I believe primarily their whole show is pre-recorded but they do a couple of specific segments for the Atlanta market but not live I believe.

You nailed it. It's cut and paste radio, they sit in a room with a bunch of producers take calls and feed them down the line to each individual market. If you listen closely you'll notice that they rarely have a caller identify where they are calling from since they use calls from all their affilates and tie them into a bit and feed it to all their stations. What morning show ends at 8, have you seen the traffic on 85 southbound at 8A?

really? and you know this how ?

I can vouch for that as well, almost all stations carrying their show receive individual mini-feeds customized for local breaks throughout each morning, it takes a live board op to make it happen though.

That is just stupid. Who cares if they are "Live and local?" Do people listen less cause Hannity is in NY? Or Boortz fans cause he's based out of Atlanta? Do a good show and it doesn't matter where you're based. But trying to customize breaks for each market is ridiculous.

It's actually well done... They've got it worked out to a science, and if you HAVE to have a syndicated morning show, they're the best ones.

I've worked with them before and even had them do live contesting...

That being said, nothing beats having live bodies in the studio!

Hannity makes no secret he's doing a national show. That's a different situation. But Big D & Bubba are portraying themselves as a local Atlanta show.

What I don't understand is how they talk about details of the prior night's Braves game if they're on tape. Typically a Braves game concludes at about 9:30 Nashville time. So could they be recording those segments then?

Chris Romer (above) knows the answers to all of this...but is he willing to tell us?

They do it that morning. The ease of having a show that has plenty of music. You can tailor how much content you want. It's highly evolved just in time VT'ing.
